Tamara Mullings, Founder and CEO
As a first-generation college graduate, Tamara benefited greatly from structured education programs and internship opportunities, the guidance of mentors and the representation of women of color in leadership roles. She knows firsthand the transformative power of programs and mentorship to inspire potential and open doors, and she brings that energy to the mission and work of AFARA.
Her path to Board Director included first serving as a Board Observer, where she was inspired to create the Board Contributor role and AFARA Governance Inc. to help other women make it through the narrow door to the boardroom. She firmly believes that guiding, supporting, and empowering women and under-represented minorities into board service offers immeasurable value for businesses.
